Grand Junction, Colorado, April 3, 2012:  Western Filament today announced that it has successfully passed our annual audit for certification to ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100:2009, revision C.  The certification is widely used within the aerospace industry as a benchmark of measuring companies’ quality systems and how they affect the products that they produce. Western Filament has maintained ISO 9001 certification since 2001 when the company recognized the importance of becoming certified.  AS9100 certification was achieved in 2007 as the new aerospace standard was becoming more widely used within their industries.

Western Filament receives Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award.

Grand Junction, Colorado, January 5, 2012:  Western Filament today announced that it has received a 2011 Boeing Performance Excellence Award.  The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance.  Western Filament maintained a Silver composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period, from October 1, 2010, to September 30, 2011.

This year, Boeing recognized 529 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award.  Western Filament is one of only 407 suppliers to receive the Silver level of recognition.  “Once again the Western Filament team has proven that they are very proficient at providing the level of service and quality that is to be expected by our customers,” stated President, Rex Nelson.  “To achieve a Boeing Performance Excellence Award two years in a row makes me very proud of the progress that we have made at Western Filament.  The hard work and determination set forth by every person at Western Filament has enabled us to achieve standards not commonly seen in our industry.”

This year, Boeing recognized 558 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award.  Western Filament is one of only 141 suppliers to receive the Gold level of recognition.
