Coating Properties |
| "CL" | Western Filament's
exclusive polyurethane coating which saturates and bonds in all types of
resin and varnish systems. This coating is a proven performer with over
30 years of use in all types of applications. |

|
"F" 7-17% |
"S" | Silicone Finish applies
smoothly to give added abrasion protection and fiber stability. |
|
"E" 15-30% |
"A" | Liquid vinyl finish
to greatly enhance abrasion protection and bondability. It protects users
from skin irritation when using glass fibers. |
|
"A" 0% |
"X" | Untreated product for
suited for stringent hermetic applications. |
|
"B" 15-32% |
"W" | Microcrystalline fungicidal
wax for easy hand tying operation. |
|
"C" 7-17% |
"G" "R" |
Good overall caoting with "soft" feel plus improved knot stregth and resistance to many fluids and fungi. Similar to "G" with self-extinguishing properties. |
|
"D" 10-20% |
"LOF" | PTFE coating applied directly to fiberglass filaments prior to braiding which reduces skin irritation and improves workability by providing additional lubrication. |
|
"G" 4-14% |
"N" | Good resistance to many fluids and "stiffens" material. Not recommended for knot tying applications. |
To order coatings, add the code letter designating the finish to the end of the part number. Example: DHS-1 with polyurethane coating = DHS-1CL Other coatings are available for specialized applications. Contact your local distributor or the factory directly for engineering assistance. Engineering note: Polyester fibers alone are not rated Class F, however they are approved and widely used in Class F systems (up to 155°C). CAUTION: Variations in materials and processing techniques will alter results. We recommend that each user first test and qualify to their own requirements. |
