Western Filament, Inc. offers a complete line of proprietary coatings and finishes especially developed for stator tying applications. These coatings improve the knot holding characteristics and the bond between the varnish and yarn.

  "CL" Western Filament's exclusive polyurethane coating which saturates and bonds in all types of resin and varnish systems. This coating is a proven performer with over 30 years of use in all types of applications.
 
"F"

"S" Silicone Finish applies smoothly to give added abrasion protection and fiber stability.
 
"E"

"A" Liquid vinyl finish to greatly enhance abrasion protection and bondability. It protects users from skin irritation when using glass fibers.

"X" Untreated product for suited for stringent hermetic applications.
 
"B"

"W" Microcrystalline fungicidal wax for easy hand tying operation.

Good overall caoting with "soft" feel plus improved knot stregth and resistance to many fluids and fungi.

"LOF" PTFE coating applied directly to fiberglass filaments prior to braiding which reduces skin irritation and improves workability by providing additional lubrication.

"N" Good resistance to many fluids and "stiffens" material. Not recommended for knot tying applications.
 

To order coatings, add the code letter designating the finish to the end of the part number.

Example: DHS-1 with polyurethane coating = DHS-1CL

Engineering note: Polyester fibers alone are not rated Class F, however they are approved and widely used in Class F systems (up to 155°C). CAUTION: Variations in materials and processing techniques will alter results. We recommend that each user first test and qualify to their own requirements.
